Write a Reviewwho would sell a product with no-way to open the cover

The door for the mail slot has NO way to open it - except by putting some thin object below the cover and trying to open it without having the cover snap back on your fingers.
How in the world would a postal delivery person be able to deliver the mail through this slot ? Especially in winter with gloves on ?
I fortunately had a brass knob for which I drilled a hole in the cover of the slot -- now the postal folks and anyone else can open the cover of this beautiful slot.

My only complaint is that the instructions I downloaded from the site in order to build the frame the slot did not show the need for notches on either side of the frame to accommodate the long pin. It would have easier to put in the notches before I attached the frame. Other than that, everything was fine.

Can this mail slot be installed vertically on a door? A:This is not recommended to be installed vertically.

Can this mail slot be installed into the side of a house where the interior is the garage? A:After looking into this, I believe you would be able to install this where ever you wanted to. You would simply cut the hole to size and put both the front and the back pieces around the hole created. Marjorie
